December v K.A.I.R.
S blížiacim sa koncom roka aj my pomaly uzatvárame naše rezidencie a plánujeme a pripravujeme tie budúcoročné. Predvianočnú atmosféru nám však stále dopĺňa posledná rezidentka tohto roka – Kaoru.
Kaoru Furuko je japonská filmárka, ktorá sa zúčastňuje rezidencie v Košiciach v spolupráci s občianskym združením Cinefil. S podporou miestnych obyvateľov a spoluprácou s lokálnymi umelcami pracuje na stop-motion animácii, ktorá bude zobrazovať tradičnú dobšinského rozprávku Dlhý, Široký a Bystrozraký. Vytváranie videa bude pokračovať aj budúci rok, no už 20.12. o 16:30 sa môžete prísť pozrieť na krátky zostrih jej doterajšej práce, ktorý bude premietaný na budovu kina Úsmev . Premietať sa bude niekoľko hodín. Urobte si odbočku z vianočných trhov a príďte sa pozrieť!

Tomáš Rafa je slovenský umelec, filmár a aktivista. V projekte Nový nacionalizmus v srdci Európy sa venuje rôznym podobám nacionalizmu v krajinách, ktoré sú mu najbližšie: Slovensko, Česko, Maďarsko a Poľsko. Svoj záujem postupne rozširuje aj na ďalšie krajiny sveta a v roku 2014 sa venuje v prvom rade problematike Ukrajiny a konfliktu s Ruskom. Začiatkom septembra Tomáš vycestoval na Ukrajinu. O svojom projekte, pobyte na Ukrajine a pozorovaniach príde Tomáš porozprávať a ukázať 12.12. o 18:00 do kaviarne Papa v areáli Kasárne/Kulturpark. Pozývame vás!

Rezidenciu v spolupráci s holandským Motel Spatie absolvovali aj Jarmila Mitríková a Dávid Demjanovič. Fotky z ich výstavy Pictures from Netherlands si môžete pozrieť tu.
Andrea Kalinová a Martin Zaiček spolupracujú od roku 2011 ako iniciatíva Opustená (re)kreácia. Ich práca sa zaoberá zanedbanou, opustenou alebo ohrozenou architektúrou 20. storočia (najmä rekreačnými objektami modernizmu ako napríklad kúpele, hotely, kúpaliská a podobne) a možnosťou ich zachovania pomocou umeleckých intervencií a alternatívnych foriem protestu. Cieľom Opustenej (re)kreácie je vyvolať, vzkriesiť a aktivovať pozornosť a záujem ako miestnych obyvateľov tak aj návštevníkov ku “opustenej” architektúre. Andrea a Martin strávia dva mesiace (január a február 2015) na rezidencii v Tbilisi, Gruzínsko. Táto rezidencia sa uskutočňuje aj vďaka spolupráci s GeoAIR.

As the end of the year is approaching, we are finishing our residencies and planning and preparing those for next year. But there is still our last resident, who is enjoying the pre-Christmas atmosphere with us – Kaoru.
Kaoru Furuko is japanese filmmaker, who is taking part on the residency in Košice in the cooperation with civic association Cinefil. With the support of local people and cooperation with artists, she works on stop-motion animation which will depict traditional fairytale of Pavol Dobšinský – Long, Wide and Sharp-Eyed. Creation of the video will continue also next year, but on 20th of December at 16:30 you can take a look on the short teaser and review of Kaoru’s recent work in Košice. Video will be screened on the building of Úsmev cinema and will take couple of hours. If you are about to visit the Christmas markets, you should definitely stop by!

Tomáš Rafa is Slovak artist, filmmaker and activist. His project Nacionalizmus v srdci Európy (Nationalism in the heart of Europe) is dealing with different kinds of nacionalism in the countries closest to him: Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. In 2014 he focused mainly on the issue of Ukraine and conflict with Russia. At the beginning of September Tomáš travelled to Ukraine. Now, he will come on December 12th at 18:00 to coffee Papa in Kasárne/Kulturpark and will talk about his project, time he spent in Ukraine and his observations. You are cordially invited!

Jarmila Mitríková a Dávid Demjanovič took part on the residency in Netherlands in cooperation with Motel Spatie. Photos from their exhibition Picturesfrom Netherlands are available here.
Andrea Kalinová and Martin Zaiček collaborate from 2011 as initiative Abandoned (re)creation. Their work deals with the issue of derelict, abandoned or endangered architecture of the 20th century (in particular with modernism of recreation object as spa, hotels, swimming pools and etc.) and its possible preservation by means of artistic interventions and alternative forms of protesting. The aim of Abandoned (re)creation is to draw, revive and activate attention and interest of local residents as well as visitors to “abandoned” architecture. Andrea and Martin will spend two months (January and February 2015) on the residency in Tbilisi, Georgia. This residency is part of the cooperation with GeoAIR.
