Michaela Bottková (SK)

Michaela Bottkova is a Slovak artist from Trencin, Slovakia. Graduated from Master’s Degree in the New Media studio in the faculty of Fine Arts at the Technical University of Kosice, she usually works with video and installation. She deals with issues of identity, the searching of self identity and answers of social questions.

During her stay in Wroclaw, Bottkova participated in Survival Festival Wroclaw 2010., where she invited people to take part into an outspoken performance about secret in public space. Besides this, she realized a multimedia installation, “seeing unsighted”. Inspired by cinema new terminology, she expressed the difficulty in identifying the boundaries between a madness inside and ordinary appearances. Her work have been showed during first KAIR big conference “Shapping the new” as a example of residency process results.
