Svetlana Fialová (SK)
Svetlana Fialová (SK) studied at the Faculty of Arts in Kosice and then continued her studies and graduated from The Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Since 2011 she is a student of doctoral studies at The Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. Her work has been exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions in Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary. She uses mainly paintings and drawings to tell narrtives of everyday life. The basis of her work lies in the spontaneity and the ability to quickly capture a moment and an idea that drawing provides. Her work centers on figurative motives, where she tries to observe specific little details that tell the whole story.
During her residential visit to Maribor she created the series of drawings inspired by the city and its inhabitants. She was mainly interested in local peculiarities, unusual things that create new micro worlds where she gets her inspiration from.
