Tomáš Moravanský (SK)
Tomáš Moravanský is a post-contemporary artist and the head of the artistic unit INSTITUT INSTITUT. His work spans objects and spatial installations, photography, film, and sound, as well as music, choreography, interventions, performances, concepts, and text. He navigates between the roles of artist, director, curator, dramaturge, and even clown.

Tomáš’s practice is post-conceptual, performative (shifting from artwork to event), and activating, often coming to full realization through audience interaction. A recurring element in his work is humor.
He has long been exploring human behavior in the context of shaping socio-cultural space, drawing from social psychology, anthropology, everyday life, and pop culture. Currently, he is completing a doctorate at the Department of Art History and Theory at FaVU in Brno while simultaneously developing the concept of the so-called post-clown as a performative persona.

He has received numerous prestigious awards in the fields of visual art, moving image, and music. His work has been presented in over two hundred thousand galleries, festivals, theaters, and radio stations both domestically and internationally. In addition to his individual practice, he collaborates on collective projects, curates and develops experimental exhibition formats. What is his favorite color?
During his residency, Tomáš plans to create a site-specific work that will emerge from an exploration of the dynamics of a new environment. At the same time, He will further develop the concept of the post-clown—a performative character that merges absurd humor with an analytical reflection on societal mechanisms.

The residency is organized thanks to the partnership with Budapest Gallery.
