Mira Gáberová (SVK)

Slovenská autorka Mira Gáberová študovala na  Vysokej škole výtvarných umení v Bratislave v ateliéri Maľby a Nových médií, University of Newcastle vo Veľlkej Británii a naAkadémii výtvarných umení v Budapešti. Vo svojej práci sa venuje videu, performance a ich prepájaniu, ale aj maľbe a kresbe.

„V novější tvorbě Miry Gáberové se stává její již dříve častá přímá performativní participace ještě výraznější. A to jak v případě živých akcí (Všetky kvety sveta, 2014), tak především v jejích videích, kde je zásadní samotná fyzická přítomnost autorky v obrazovém prostoru záběru. Ta je často spíše pasivní a výsledná situace je definována pozicí jejího těla v daném prostředí (Sprcha, 2013). Za vyvrcholení tohoto přístupu lze pokládat videoperformance, kde umělkyně takto pasivně vystupuje na divadelní scéně a aktivním hráčem se zde stává divadelní opona (I am I am not, 2013 a Scéna Praha, 2015). Tuto tvorbu bychom mohli brát i jako podobenství o práci videoperformera, pro nějž je záběr kamery vlastně vymezenou divadelní scénou.“ vybrané z textu Viktora Čecha.

Mira Gáberová sa zúčastní dvojmesačného rezidenčného pobytu (máj – jún 2016) v poľskom meste Vroclav, ktorý je organizovaný v spolupráci s A-i-R Wro – Európske hlavné mesto kultúry Vroclav 2016. Počas rezidencie bude umelkyňa pracovať v audiovizuálnom centre Centrum Technologii Audiowizualnych a vytvorené dielo bude prezentovať počas Night Media Lab 3.0.

Rezidenčný pobyt je organizovaný s podporou Creative Industry Košice. Rezidenčný pobyt z verejných zdrojov podporil Fond na podporu umenia.

Slovak artist Mira Gáberová studied at Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava in studio of Painting and New Media, University of Newcastle in Great Britain and Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest. In her work, she is focused on video, performance and connections between them, but also to the painting and drawing.

„In the most recent works of Mira Gáberová the already frequent direct performative participation is becoming even stronger. Both in the case of live actions (Všetky kvety sveta/All Flowers of the World, 2014), and particularly in her videos, where is essential the physical presence of the author in the image space of the scene. The presence is often more passive and the resulting situation is defined by the position of her body in given setting (Sprcha/Shower, 2013). As the top of this approach we can consider video-performance, where the artist is passively performing at the theater stage and the active player there is the theater curtain (I am I am not, 2013 and Scéna Praha/Scene Prague, 2015). Mira Gáberová will take part at two months residency (May – June 2016) in Wroclaw, Poland which is organized in cooperation with A-i-R Wro – European Capital of Culture Wroclaw 2016. During the residency, the artist will work at Audiovisual Technology Center and the created work will be presented during the Night Media Lab 3.0.
