Október v K.A.I.R.

Jeseň je tu, no K.A.I.R. tím ani po aktívnom lete nepoľavil. Máme za sebou úspešnú prezentáciu našich umelcov na Bielej Noci. Lisa Premke z Nemecka demonštrovala spojenie kultúry a prírody počas performance s názvom Estetika dedičstva. Išlo o experiment, kde sa operní speváci snažili komunikovať so štyrmi československými vlčiakmi pomocou piesní a zavíjania.

Umelecká dvojica žijúca v Marseille gethan&myles za sebou zas zanechali trvalú maľbu na južnej stene Starej Sladovne. Ide o dielo založené na texte a je výpoveďou množstva Košičanov na to, ako vnímajú svoje mesto práve oni. S tým bola na Bielej Noci spojená aj projekcia s názvom Pohodlná stagnácia.

Navyše títo traja umelci spojili sily a prezentovali sa aj spoločnou inštaláciou Tučná koža, ktorou reagovali na súčasnú situáciu vo svete.

Títo umelci to už majú za sebou. Začiatkom septembra s k našej skupine umelcov pridala Michiko Tsuda z Japonska. Intenzívne sa venuje návštevám múzeí, ktorých priestory chce využiť pri svojej práci. Výsledok jej rezidencie bude prezentovaný na výstave 29. Októbra.

Koncom Septembra sa vrátil i rezident z Holandska Tilmann Meyer-Faje, ktorý pracuje na svojej inštalácii z dreva a keramiky. Hlinu bude vypaľovať v peci na Zuš Kováčska. Ako taká hlina pred vypálením vyzerá a ako sa bude prenášať? To si budete môcť pozrieť na našom facebooku.

No a 13. októbra pricestovala naša posledná zahraničná umelkyňa pre tento rok – Kaoru Furuko z Japonska, ktorá ku nám zavíta 13. Októbra v rámci filmárskej rezidencie. Tá sa koná aj v spolupráci s občianskym združením Cinefil. Kaoru bude v Košiciach pracovať na stop-motion animácii.

Aby sa vám všetci naši súčasní umelci mohli predstaviť aj osobne, organizujeme už tradične Open Studios Night 21. Októbra o 18:00 v budove Bravo v Kasárne/Kulturpark. Michiko, Kaoru i Tilmann vám teda predstavia seba, svoje práce i to, čo tvoria na svojej rezidencii a ukážu vám priestory, kde sa to všetko deje. Určite sa zastavte, bude občerstvenie i možnosť pokecať si s umelcom.

Gruzínska umelkyňa Ana strávila v Košiciach 2 mesiace v lete. Teraz je čas vymeniť sa. Je tu možnosť prihlásiť sa na rezidenciu do gruzínskeho Tbilisi a  prvé dva mesiace nového roka stráviť umeleckou a kreatívnou činnosťou za hranicami Slovenska. Termín na prihlásenie sa je 20. Fall is here, but K.A.I.R. team haven’t slowed down a bit after summer. The presentation of our artists on White Night was a success. Lisa Premke from Germany demonstrated the connection of nature and culture during her performance called the Aesthetics of Heritage. It was an experiment of opera singers trying to communicate with four Czechoslovakian wolfdogs through songs and howling.

Artistic couple based in Marseille gethan&myles have left a permanent painting on the south wall of Stará Sladovňa behind. It is a text-based artwork and represent a voice of numerous Kšice inhabitans on how they themselves perceive their city.  Connected to this, projection called Comfortable Stagnation  was also part of White Night,

Moreover, these three artists presented themselves with a common instalation Thick skin,which was a reaction on the current happenings in the world.

On the beginning of September, Michiko Tsuda from Japan joined our residency group.  Within the frame of her artwork she is visiting many museums which space she considers useful for her work. The result of her residency will be be presented on the exhibition in October 29th.

At the end of September a resident from Netherlands Tilmann Mejer-Faje, who is working on the installation from ceramics and wood, came back. The clay will be burnt at the artschool on Kováčska street. How does such a clay before burning look like and how is it even transported? You will be able to check it on our facebook.

The last resident of this year – Kaoru Kuruko from Japan, arrived in October 13th for the filmmaking residency. This one is organised in the cooperation with the civic association Cinefil. Kaoru will be working on the stop-motion animation.

Our artists being able to introduce themselves personally, too, we are organising Open Studios Night in October 21st at 18:00 in the Bravo building in Kasárne/Kulturpark. Michiko, Kaoru and Tilmann will present themselves, their works, what they are creating here in Košice and will show you places where is it all happening. You should definitely stop by, there will be some food and the opportunity to talk to the artists.

Georgian artist Ana spent 2 months in Košice during summer. Now it is time to change. There is a possibility to apply for a residency in georgian Tbilisi and to spend first two months of the new year by creative work abroad. Deadline is October 20th. More info here.
